mornings

I love coming downstairs in the morning and walking past Floyd.  (In case you did not know, Floyd is the quilting machine.)
The windows in my room face south so I have a great view of yesterday's work.  This quilt is so lovely - all pastels with GINGHAM (one of my favorites).  It has some really noticeable staining from a wood shelf it was living on for several years, so I hope that will come out with a good wash in Oxyclean.

If you have any sure-fire tips for removing these stains please let me know.

    I've used vinegar to get out scorch marks (minor ones) - maybe that would work. Just put on vinegar and let it sit and dry.

    I bought a package of Retro Clean a detergent/soap for cleaning vintage quilts. It says it gets rid of the yellow and brown of age staining. It is a soaking agent with sodium perborate in it. I haven't used it yet but I plan on using it on a stained vintage quilt.

      Thank you Barb. I've never heard of this product, but there are lots of testimonials and before/after examples on the internet. Will definitely pass along this tip.
