Hi Helen This is a big problem in Australia as well. The govts, both Liberal and Labour, are selling off large parcels of prime grazing and growing lands to foreign countries and the limit for their intervention is set way too high ($250m and over or similar. I try to be careful about where my food comes from and they have quite good labelling laws here, so at the supermarket, I can see straight away if the cherries I might buy are grown in Australia, South Australia or imported. That helps a lot. But you are right to be concerned. I know I am and I have no idea of numbers etc. just that if things keep going at this rate, we'll have to rely on imports and that's not good for an island nation.
